SEPTEMBER 3-Part Challenge
Step by Step
1 Send Email Newsletter Reminder regarding Giving Day 2025
Action Steps:
Communitas Giving Day is Thursday, October 16, 2025. Giving Day is the one day each year when we unapologetically ask our ministry partners and friends around the world to consider joining us in funding. Our efforts depend on the generosity of our ministry partners to help us stay focused on the work God has called us to. There is nothing special about the day other than it being a day dedicated to giving to God's work through our movement around the world.
Click here to send an email to Lynette Nice to request your 13-Month Report.
Look over the 13-Month Report and consider alerting people listed below about Giving Day:
Regular monthly donors. Ask them to consider making a 13th gift.
Annual donors. Giving Day is a great time to plan to make that gift.
‘Intend-to’ donors - those who have said they plan to support you but have never gotten started.
Prayer supporters.
Prospective donors - those you have been meaning to ask but haven’t.
Draft an email ministry update that includes information about Giving Day and how your ministry partners can take part on Thursday, October 16.
Ask someone to proofread your update
Send email ministry update
Bonus step: Use your Social Media to post about Giving Day. Just a simple blurb like, “Communitas Giving Day 2025 is coming soon on Thursday, October 16.” is plenty for the weeks before Giving Day if your ministry partners have been involved in previous years.
2 Pray for Ministry Partners
Action Steps:
Ask Ministry Partners for prayer requests
Request an updated 13-Month Report from Lynette to use as a guide for praying.
Throughout the month, pray for each of your ministry partners. Divide up the month to pray for a few people each week.
3 Follow Up with Lapsed Partners
Action Steps: (No lapsed partners? Then just send the newsletter in Step 1 and you are done!)
Determine which ministry partners’ giving patterns have changed or decreased by reviewing your 13-Month Report or your staff account in Acumatica.
Click here to access the “Lapsed Partners Telephone Script”
Contact lapsed partners by calling them. (Some people prefer to send an email or a text checking in and alerting the ministry partner that you will call them at a specific time on a specific day. The main thing is to call them and check in.)
After connecting with the ministry partner, update your records based on their future commitment.
Send a hand written thank you note to partners who have decided to roll off your ministry partner team thanking them for their years of partnership.
